This 100+ year-old residence on Milwaukee’s East Side has been thoughtfully revitalized through a sensitive renovation that bridges historic preservation and contemporary design. Guided by a deep respect for the home’s architectural legacy, we reimagined the interiors to enhance functionality, improve spatial flow, and elevate day-to-day living—while celebrating the craftsmanship of the original structure.

On the first floor, we reconfigured the layout to include a brand-new kitchen, mudroom, and a refined butler’s pantry. A new walk-out to the south adds connection to the outdoors and floods the space with natural light. We also reworked the stairwell for better circulation and visual harmony. Tucked into the design is a hidden door, both functional and delightfully discreet, that maintains the architectural integrity of the surrounding space.

The second floor was transformed with the addition of a spacious new bedroom, offering a private retreat within the home. We added an additional off-suite bathroom to accommodate guests or family members, and relocated a bedroom to improve layout and livability. Elegant arched French doors were installed to lend a touch of sophistication and echo the home's historic detailing.

Throughout both levels, original trim was preserved and vintage elements restored, ensuring that the soul of the home remains intact even as it moves into a new chapter. This project is a testament to how modern updates and historic charm can coexist beautifully—breathing new life into a beloved home while honoring its past.
