The project involved the design and planning of a new lakefront residence on an existing lot, with consideration given to utilizing portions of the existing foundation. During the initial and concept design phase, a preliminary evaluation of the existing foundation was conducted to explore opportunities for reuse. The extent of the existing foundation to remain was identified as a key item requiring confirmation and verification as part of the early design process. The work included site analysis, conceptual massing studies, and coordination with structural consultants to determine the feasibility of incorporating existing foundation elements into the new construction.
